23rd Sunday of Ordinary Time
Opening Prayer
You must have immense patience
to listen to me whine and complain
about my suffering and pain.
I am so naive.
You have heard every excuse but still I give them.
The promise of peace, forgiveness, and mercy
doesn’t seem to be enough for me to let go.
May Your WORD today help me to finally surrender!
AMEN

Challenge for the Week: The theme of humility carries into this week’s readings. You can often get busy with day-to-day tasks or obligations that you can become stressed or overwhelmed; especially if you don’t keep God close to you. This week, as you go about your day, pray the serenity prayer often (God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference). Perhaps keeping this prayer on the tip of your tongue each day will help bring you the perspective God is seeking for you to have.
